I Have Seen the Future...

...or more accurately, the present: today Will handed over the first copy of
The Dog of the North. In this case pictures are more eloquent than words:

Woo hoo!

There's an unforgettable moment! Congrats!

Though I have to say it was receiving the galley proofs that really took me aback--all those words, so familiar but so strange-looking when typeset...

Congrats! That must be an awesome feeling!

It's an amazing feeling to have "the book" in my hand. The galleys were great, for the reasons you outline, David--but for me this is even better!

I remember the moment well! Couldn't do a thing worth speaking of for the rest of the day!
The book looks fab and I'm really looking forward to reading it. Both my boys, now having finished their exams, are looking for books to read and I think TDOTN will fit the bill perfectly!

Alis,

PanMac are desperate to promote the book as "not just fantasy" (hence the relatively non-genre cover) so I hope that you'll enjoy it even as a non-fantasy nut.

Equally PanMac are desperate to promote it as "an outstanding new voice in fantasy fiction" (hence the more genrified paperback cover being planned) so I hope your boys like it too!
